Rated 3 out of 5Â by Edmond APC Essential SurgeArrest, Wall Tap I wanted to protect various electronic devices from power surges without using an array of surge suppressors in a Rube Goldberg configuration. This surge suppressor is a clean and well articulated unit which increases the number of outlest at the wall plug where it is used. I particularly liked having the unit also control the on/off state by an integrated timer. The units install cleanly without much fuss and seems to afford a reasonable amount of surge protection. I did note that the timer, when in the off setting, does not fully turn the power off to the plugs. I do not know if this was intended or a design/manufacturing flaw. There was no mention of this in the documentation that I saw. But, I am satisfied that my electronics are protected from errant power surges and spikes. January 25, 2012
