Based on an open architecture using standard high-performance PC-class servers and popular network operating systems, the AccelePort RAS from Digi meets a wide range of remote access needs, including connectivity for mobile employees, telecommuters, branch offices, and SOHO (small office, home office) users.

A single AccelePort RAS concentrator provides 8 simultaneous analog remote access sessions, for users connecting via standard POTS lines at speeds up to 56Kbps. These concentrator cards are easy to install in Microsoft NT, Novell or UNIX servers with the standard PCI bus. The dense modem technology built into the AccelePort RAS concentrators is based on industry-standard Digital Signal Processors (DSPs). These on-board DSPs support industry-standard K56flex (software upgradable to V.90).

Digi's PortAssist is a robust software package bundled with the AccelePort RAS Family that allows you to configure and manage your remote access server and ports via an industry-standard Web browser from anywhere on the network. This software makes configuration and and ongoing maintenance of your server-based remote access solution simple.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by Fuzzball 32bit Works Good. No 64bit Though This card works great under 32 bit OSes. Unfortunetaly there are no 64-bit drivers available. It turns out no driver development has been done on this card since 2006. I called the manufacturer to inqure about the lack of drivers for 64-bit; the representative contacted the driver development group and there presently are no plans to do any additional driver development for this card. This is quite dissapointing since Windows Server 2008 R2 will be 64-bit only. It would be understandable if the product were to be phased out with a replacement model, however there seems to be no replacement model in the pipeline for the moment based off of the representative's available information.
