Rated 5 out of 5Â by MacBookPro Like a new Mac
When my hard drive started failing, I couldn't decide on whether to replace my 500GB standard HD or go with a solid state drive. I could not afford to go with a 500GB solid state drive, so I had to choose between the 500GB standard and the 256 solid state drives. I chose the 256 solid state drive and am very glad I did. This thing ROCKS! My MacBook Pro boots in 22 seconds! This thing is wicked fast now. If you can live without the extra space, go for it. Replacing the drive took me only 10 minutes. Reloading software did take about two hours though. But it was definitely worth the effort. The instructions were perfect too. My MacBook Pro is way faster than before. I'm happy with my choice.

Be warned that this drive M4 256GB drive will likely FAIL after 5184 hours. This is well documented in forums. They (Crucial) "say" that there is a firmware upgrade that will fix it. Maybe/maybe not. Oh, the symptom of failing on Windows is BSOD (Blue Screen) and every 1 hour thereafter will BSOD.
I have a one star here because I couldn't make it 0 or negative.
Just BE WARNED.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by pcbj Almost like Star Trek...
...well, not really, but this is fast, 7.9 on Win WEI, as high as it goes on the Win7 x64. I don't know to what extent that rating is supported by my other new hardware: Asus Sabertooth, AMD FX6100, 16GB memory, but it may be. Yes, it's expensive, but I needed real power as my work needs evolved. Be good to yourself ;)
