Recently, the hard drive crashed on my laptop and I was so thankful to have this drive. I was able to recover 4 generations of photos and thousands of graphics plus all my music. I had spent the better part of my 1st year of retirement scanning photos and at least 300 hours designing graphics for digi-scrapping. This drive was well worth the cost and then some. However, I have not been able to retrieve any of my documents, though. I am still trying to figure this out. Would have given 5 stars if not for the documents. May 13, 2013

Rated 3 out of 5Â by Vector Mixed Emotions The product installed easily enough. Have used it reasonably reliably the last few days. Refuses to back up standard MP4 files made with Flip Video. I've tried WD2GO.com to access files while on the road and have not had any success as of yet. The scores posted above are average because it is doesn't seem reliable from outside my home network, but while at home it seems to function flawlessly. Performance is marked average because it works good at home but not at all trying to access while "on the road" May 13, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5Â by cmaden753 Absolutely Easy to install and Confident of Integrity of Files I was pleased at the ease of install and I am very satisfied with the security I feel now that my files are off my unstable desktop and laptop. I have two units now - one for each of my computers and a small one I take everywhere with all my business files. After two years use, my confidence with the reliability of having all my files safe is secure. Much more cost effective than offline "backup" I have my full files where-ever and whenever I need them.
