While the pre-installed, bundled software (WD SmartWare) works OK the interface and backup engine is really designed especially for novices in data managment. But there are still a few advanced options for more experienced users and IT professionals including some basic diagnostic tools. This drive will also work just fine for any Windows PC. Reliability seems to be OK - 6 months and still humming along. Over all this is a very good value and would recommend it highly. May 6, 2013
