Rated 4 out of 5Â by MacFriend Needed Accessory You need this if you want extra battery time with the XL units. Get the 3-year extended warranty as APC says it covers the battery which will fail before the additional warranty expires. The manual on how to connect this is lacking in detailed information but fortunately there isn't a wrong way to connect it from what I've learned. You need to tell the main XL unit how many battery packs you have connected as it doesn't auto-sense them. May 7, 2009
