This Hi-Speed Universal Serial Bus 2.0 4-port hub offers backward compatibility to USB 1.0 and 1.1. It provides an out of the box industry standard that allows connection of up to four USB peripherals or devices to your USB ready PC or Mac. It is targeted at PC and Mac users that are expanding the number of USB ports on their system.

This hub is designed to provide quick and easy access to the four type "A" downstream ports for connecting USB peripherals, devices or other USB hubs. A single type "B" upstream port connects the hub to the host computer, or another USB hub enabling up to 127 devices to be connected by cascading multiple hubs. Configured directly by the operating system, the hub operates seamlessly with both Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh Operating Systems.

As a standard USB hub, it buffers USB data from any attached peripheral in compliance with USB specifications to provide an invisible extension of the USB bus. Supporting both low speed (1.5 Mbps and 12Mbps) and Hi-speed (480 Mbps) devices, each port creates a bridge between the peripheral and host computer.

Diagnostic LEDs located on the top of the device provide power state (self-power) and port status on each port. The DUB-H4 2.0 is packaged with all necessary documentation, a 6-foot hi-speed USB 2.0 'A' to 'B' cable and an AC power supply to ensure that the user is able to easily and quickly install and use the device.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Nairokrik Great packaging and performance. A solidly built unit that performs flawlessly. No special tools or software loading required. The way plug-n-play was meant to be. I especially like the I/O port layout: The auxiliary power cord (needed only for powering peripherals like disks) and input (type B) USB port are on the rear and the four type A USB ports are on the front, each with its own port activity LED. Rated 4 out of 5Â by pcexcust slow I wanted to attach a 2.5" drive to this hub to offload my pc's power supply. When I began to transfer files, however, the top speed was 500k/sec. Crazy slow! I haven't contacted dlink---just unplugged the unit. September 15, 2010

Five LED lights indicate operational status of power and each USB port. Unit has been operiting flawlessly for some time now. May 29, 2009
