Tripp Lite's SMART1500LCD Line-Interactive Digital UPS System offers voltage regulation, surge suppression and long-lasting battery support for personal computers, network workstations, home entertainment systems and media centers. Internal UPS circuits support entry-level PCs or individual VCR/DVR components during power failures, and prevents data loss, viewing interruptions, lost recordings and loss of component programming. The Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) circuits regulate brownouts and overvoltages from 75V to 147V back to usable levels without using battery power.

The SMART1500LCD offers complete power protection with support for upright tower, flat shelfmount or 2U rackmount installation in an attractive all-black cabinet design. It includes 8 battery-supported outlets, built-in USB and DB9 serial ports that enables optional unattended system shutdown without data loss in case of extended power failure. The HID-compliant USB interface enables full integration with built-in power management and auto shutdown features of Windows, Mac OS X and Linux, while the built-in single-line RJ-45 jacks offer protection for equipment with single-line tel/DSL or network Ethernet connection. The system also features a built-in audible alarm and large LCD front panel voltage display that indicates line power status, battery power status, battery low/replace status and voltage boost operation.

It is very tall and would look much better if I could stack the components on top of this unit. I am disappointed! As far as the operation of the unit, solid construction, however the fan within the unit is rather loud. February 22, 2013

Rated 2 out of 5Â by hemingrey Tripp Lite 1500VA Smart Pro This is a fine product, however it was not suitable for my Home theater room. The product has a fan that runs constantly and made too much noise. It would be fine in a computer room or any other room where noise is not as issue. I had to return it for a Tripp Lite product without a fan. It would be nice if the product literature indicated the product would not be good for a quiet Home Theater or music listening room. Rated 5 out of 5Â by Santa Product Review I've been satisfied with this product so far. It was easy to set up and get started. I chose this product because all of the APC brand UPSs have an audible alarm that cannot be turned off and cannot be cold started. I have frequent power outages in my area and the APC UPS units were unbearable (with 4 of them) beeping every 30 seconds or so. How lame of APC to not allow shutting off this annoying noise. This unit is new so I can't yet say I'm super happy with it but we have had 2 power outages and the unit did it's job and I was able to shut off the beeping noise. YEAH!!! I would recommend the unit. Not only is this ups great for protecting your pc but it looks great. The fact that it will shut down your pc for you helps to protect from data loss. Setup is easy and we use the rack mount feature that allows us to save space in existing test setups. I have had several in use for well over a year and had no battery issues yet. May 26, 2009
