Rated 1 out of 5Â by Rende quality is not acceptable
I own this machine for 3 years and only used it under hundreds times. I didn't find it's scanning quality much better than your necessary but the mechanical problem were really bather me. Even reality was not matching cheaper regular scanner.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by ridgeroad V700 Photo does great PDF's
Eddie in Philadelphia wrote on Dec 25th 2012, that he can't get the PDF function to work. I just tried it on my V700 Photo and it works fine....Eddie, have you checked 'yes' to open the file destination after scanning so you can see your work? Is it actually scanned but to a destination you can't locate in your PC?
Make sure you record your destination and ask for a preview of the scanned item. It should work just fine!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Ridgeroad Terrific V700 Photo
My Epson V700 Photo has been the best machine ever. It even scans 2 1/4" mounted transparencies. I am able to compose my photo journals with old negatives and degraded photos that I have brought to life again using the superlative Epson scanning software. I recommend the V700 to anyone who wants a full-capacity scanner.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by eddie no pdf!!!
The V700 seems to be a nice piece of hardware and the software allows for good quality scans to image files, but it will absolutely not produce a pdf. It will scan a document, a note appears reminding me that producing a searchable PDF require higher resolution, but when you dismiss the note the Epson Scan program closes. I've searched for a newly created pdf file, but it doesn't exist. The File Save Settings the user manual promises never appears.
