System Requirements	DiskWarrior requires a G3 Mac or better (such as a G4, G5 or any Intel processor) with built-in FireWire and a minimum 256 MB RAM (512 MB recommended) to start up and run from the DiskWarrior CD regardless of what operating system is installed on the disk to be rebuilt. NOTE: The current DiskWarrior CD cannot start up the new Mac Pro and Xserve models introduced on 01/08/2008, the MacBook Air introduced on 01/15/2008, the MacBook/MacBook Pro models introduced on 02/26/2008, or the iMac models introduced on 04/28/2008. An updated disc that will also start up these recent Mac models will be released as soon as Apple, Inc. releases new startup files to Alsoft, Inc. and other developers. Click here to learn how to repair the directory of a disk in a Mac model that cannot be started from the DiskWarrior CD. To install, you must be started from Mac OS X 10.3.9 through 10.5 with at least 256 MB RAM. DiskWarrior 4 version 4.1 is completely compatible with Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. The older DiskWarrior 4 version 4.0 has some compatibility issues when running an installed copy of DiskWarrior under Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard (see this support database entry). Alsoft recommends that you don't run DiskWarrior 4 version 4.0 while started from Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. Instead, you should download the free DiskWarrior 4 version 4.1 CD Update. This free updater allows you to create a new startup CD containing DiskWarrior 4 version 4.1.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by GoDawgsGo It works and started a defective drive I have tried on 2 different macs. G5 it built directories but could not fix files. Would not boot. Nor in safe mode. It did not work or it did as the g5 may have other issues. On a G4 it had a corrupted disk ran drive genius 2 it did not repair. It left drive in altered state and could not repair.Ran Disk Warrior. Rebuilt Directories, repaired permission, and files. Even check drive if it was running properly. After quitting and restarted Mac G4 it evidently restored to working order. Impressed. June 22, 2011

Rated 2 out of 5Â by RMF22 No help to me Diskwarrior was a disappointment. I was getting a flashing questionmark while booting and could only boot from a CD. DW did create a new directory as advertised but my Mac Mini will still not boot from the hard drive. I don't expect DW to solve every conceivable problem, but the advertising leads one to believe that it can fix an unbootable drive and save the precious files on your hard drive. Didn't happen. And it was expensive to boot (no pun intended). September 7, 2010

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Linder Excellent program I used Disk Warrior prior to upgrading from Tiger to Snow Leopard, and it probably saved me hours of work as it found many errors even though the machine was working perfectly. There are many updates on Snow Leopard as I purchased the family pack with Ilife and I work and also had backups from 2 old PC's and my mac. I ran the program after complete installation, changing ISP's and installig Airport Extreme. The mac was very slow until I ran Disk Warrior, and no doubt would have needed to be looked at by an Apple Expert. The program is very easy and does all the work. No need to be an expert to use this. To me this was more than worth the price and I found PC Express to be extremely quick in delivery and quality of packaging and will look at them prior to purchasing from other online places that I use. Thank you PC Express for the great job! June 5, 2010
