On my property I not only have a home that sits back on my property, but I have a salon on the main street. The buildings are maybe 50ft apart. I purchased both an N Router for my home and an N adapter for the computer at the salon and barely got a signal. This was disappointing because neither of these was cheap. Then the cable man told me to get a repeater or a range extender. I did and Tada!!!! I hooked the extender to my computer and configured it with my router (which has a WPA-2 security) Rebooted it and I was off and running. I put the extender within the 3-4 bar range in my house plugged it into a wall by the window and we went from 1 bar at the salon to 4 bars. Best thing ever invented as far as I am concerned. High speed internet is not cheap, and I was NOT!!!! going to pay for it in both my home and my salon when they share the same address!!!!! If your signal doesn't reach somewhere in your house or on your property GET THIS DEVICE!!!!

I have tried every possible network configuration and regardless of what type of security I use, or which network features I enable/disable, I am unable to get this device to hold a connection with my Belkin N router. Even when the two devices are sitting next to each other on the table and I do have a connection (briefly) the throughput is less than half of what all the other devices on the same network are able to run at. Worse, it causes other devices to get sent 0.0.0.0 for router address- ie. it disables them. Numerous attempts to get help from Hawking yield useless suggestions like "move it closer" (stupid since it doesn't work sitting right next to the router) or "try a different channel" (like i haven't already tried them all several times) I know from the other reviews some people get this to work but you are rolling the dice if you buy this thing.

This range extender is excellent. I had tried multiple wireless router configurations in my home, and a different extender product. Nothing worked consistently to reach the far corner of the house. This product solved the problem, and I'm not constantly having to reset/reconfigure it.

Am I the only person who is amazed when a tech product works as advertised and is easy to set up and use?
This one is. It took maybe 15 minutes to set up and worked without any problem.
The only surprise was that the range extender shows as a separate network. This means that each computer must have the password input individually and if you use a laptop in different parts of the house like i do you might need to switch from the base router to the range extender or the other way.
My Kid's XBox360 works perfectly on the network now and we have to pry him away. He got a subscription last Christmas for the online whatever they call it and he can now use it for the first time.
It also works seamlessly with our mixed network of PC and MACs.
