After nearly six months of frequent operation, we are very satisfied with this printer/FAX/copier/scanner/et cetera XEROX 4260. Being able to copy a document to USB and attached the PDF created has been a welcome addition to our office capability. The "X" model came without FAX capability, so we added the optional module, which plugged right in to the breakout panel. My only reason for four stars was the challenge of getting the system set up. It's NOT a "plug-n-play" operation. Once we got the "bugs" out of, or INTO our machine, it has been a workhorse! If I needed another multi-function, I'd add a couple of lower drawers for special paper, but the machine does EVERYTHING else!

the 4260 is a great little multifunctional copier/printer. my office loves it. it's warm up time in the morning is a little slow for my taste, but once it gets going its faster than our workcentre7545.

The company I work for got this machine to replace the one I already had that was working fine for me. (lease) It was to make copies of paperwork that was some 23 pages long. 1st copy, no problem. The 2nd one I put in jammed on the second page. Upon clearing it out and starting again this time the first page jammed. And unlike my old copier that might jam from time to time, this copier would make the jammed pages into accordion pages. (smashed together)
I have worked making copies for 10+ years. I know how to take the staple out of the form I am going to print and to 'break the seal' that the staple caused. I know to make sure the edges of the paper are laying properly.
We even tried to turn the paper around to run it and it still messed up.
This was suppose to be a new machine. A few people have looked at it but it still does not work properly. Getting a different machine. (cross's his fingers)
Lastly.... what it did print was fine and dandy.

Rated 1 out of 5 Don't do it - WC4260XF
This copier was touted as the best for our office. I want to give it back. It needs to warm up the scanner before making a copy or fax unless it's used every few minutes. It stops me cold in my tracks every time! So much for making a quick copy. The Ricoh we had got the job done. This Xerox gets used about every 20 minutes but still goes into cool down mode even though the tech's have set the "sleep" mode to start after 2 hours of non use. The power-down button won't respond 1/2 the time either at the end of the night. This unit needs a firmware update to deal with these problems.
