This external hard drive dock adapter functions as a SATA HDD docking station - providing full, instant access to any 2.5in or 3.5in SATA (SATA, SATA II, SATA/300) hard drive - without having to mount the hard drive in a computer or install it in an enclosure.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by RPQSAN Works perfectly as advertised True plug & play and no software to install. Plugged in the SATA dock, plugged in my external drive, and the hard drive icon shows up just as on my old system. Full access to the drive and all of its contents after only 1 - 2 minutes of unpacking the shipping box. Great product that saves the day if you have a failure on an old system but still need full access to the failed system's hard drive. December 28, 2009

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Johnboy Nice HDD Dock This worked very well. I purchased this to upgrade the hard drive in my laptop. I purchased a new Seagate drive and wanted to clone my old hard drive image to my new one using Seagates free software you can download from their site. The catch was DiskWizard wanted to find a Seagate or Maxtor drive to run. The HDD adapter showed up to windows as a genaric USB drive so the Seagate drive wasn't recognized and I couldn't use the clone software. I ended up using a backkup and restore utility that came with the laptop. February 11, 2009
