I have wasted hours and hours scanning on my older Epson Photo Scanner, like the V500 [which I also bought because my old one finally failed after 4 years and thousands of photos and full page saves]. I really like the speed and adjustability of the GT-S50 I bought about a month ago - even checking the scans with the Windows viewer [cool, no complaints]. I just scanned random 1 and 2 sided 8.5x11 paperwork at 261 documents in 31 minutes - only 4 bled-through ink-jet copies [older copies, laser-print now] made a copy of the 2nd side - in error [auto skip blank sides setting]. Beautiful job. Takes longer to sort and date-stamp and certainly file my copies. I'm trying to have a paperless office, but I spent too many years procrastinating. Wish I had bought a GT-S50 type sooner! Thanks EPSON! Worth every penny [I only had 1 poor feed on a very thin paper that went crunch feeding. It does help to seperate the paper into like sizes though. It has various automatic setting which I have yet to utilize, but I just know I'll be thrilled. Photos and small receipts fed through with a plastic holder, though, I'd rather put on a stationery tray scanner - both for DPI and and the much higher definition I require. I would recommend this printer [GT-S50] to anyone who does a lot of invoice and printed paperwork saving.

I received the GT-S50 and started to set it up on a Windows 7 system. The disk process seems slow but completed successfully. I attempted to scan and received an error. I cleared the paper and restarted the scanner multiple times. After downloading the driver from the website I made a good scan. It has been working good since the driver download. I have set up multiple scanners and this has been one of the more difficult. The quality compares to the other scanners I have setup, but I would not say it would be my first choice purchase.

Got this unit 4 days ago to replace an AIO not from Epson that was painfully slow at simplex scanning. What a remarkable difference! Throughput is dependent on host computer, as it blazes with a recent Mac Mini and is a little slower with a gen one G5 machine. Feed is relatively robust--800 pages of sometimes questionable paper and fewer than 5 misfeeds so far. I have worked well though a 4-year backlog of scanning quickly and shouldn't fall behind again.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by real estate and loan guy Big time saver
I have used this for about a year. It really saves a lot of time. Easy installation.
I use it for both real estate agreements and mortgage loan disclosure packets. It can take a pack of mixed letter and legal size papers and quickly scan them and automatically convert them to a pdf file!
If I have double sided documents I just click a button and is scans the double sided docs at the same speed.
It takes 20 to 30 pages no problem, they just fly through.
I do mostly black and white, but the color scanning works fine too.
I am very happy with it!
