Change Manager enables data center operations managers to stay on top of frequent physical equipment changes. The application combines graphical data center room and rack views, physical asset management, a work order system and a handheld mobile application for creating changes on the go. The asset management tool keeps track of device properties and physical equipment location. The work order system allows you to easily juggle changing priorities and track the status of physical asset management tasks such as adding new equipment, moving existing equipment, and decommissioning retired equipment.
The Mobile Change Manager, developed specifically for use with Symbol’s MC50 Digital Assistant, makes light work of implementing work orders and locating equipment whilst on the move in the data center. Using your wireless network, the Mobile Change Manager automatically synchronizes server locations, improving data accuracy and removing human error.
When used in conjunction with Capacity Manager (available at PCC# 8501176), Change Manager aligns IT equipment redundancy and availability needs with the capabilities of the physical infrastructure and enables rapid deployment of needed changes.
