The DFL-260E Unified Threat Management (UTM) Firewall offers you Remote Routing, Network Address Translation, Virtual Private Network, Proactive Network Security, Intrusion Prevention System , Web Content Filtering, Anti-Virus Protection load balancing and traffic management bandwidth, all in a compact desktop chassis.
The DFL-260E UTM Firewall offers advanced security features that allow you to manage and monitor the network, thus keeping it safe and healthy. For network administration it includes features such as remote administration policies for bandwidth control, URL blocking / keyword, access policies and SNMP. For network monitoring these firewalls support Email alerts, system log (syslog), consistency checks and real-time statistics.
For optimal VPN performance, the DFL-260E UTM Firewall has both client and server integrated VPN. It supports VPN policy that allows remote office and mobile users, who work from outside the office premise, to securely connect to a central office and access data and Email. It has hardware-based VPN to support and manage a large number of VPN configurations. Advanced VPN configuration includes DES / 3DES / AES / Twofish / Blowfish / CAST-128 encryption, key management manual or IKE / ISAKMP negotiation (modes Quick / Main / Aggressive) and VPN authentication support using either an external RADIUS server or a database of users.
For added protection, the DFL-260E UTM Firewall has integrated Intrusion Detection and Prevention (IDP / IPS) gateway, Anti-Virus and Web Content Filtering / URL Filtering for inspecting the contents in upper level 7. The use of a hardware accelerator, focused on increasing the throughput of IPS and AV, allows the monitoring of web browsing with a database of millions of URLs enabling Web Content Filtering. The IPS, Anti-Virus and URL database updates in real-time network service helps offices to achieve protection against application exploits, network worms, malicious code attacks. It provides everything a business needs to manage and control the online behavior of employees.
The DFL-260E UTM Firewall uses a hardware accelerator to perform the functions of Anti-Virus and IPS scans simultaneously without degrading firewall performance or the virtual private network. This powerful accelerator allows the firewall to work with a performance superior to Anti-Virus firewall UTM market function.
To maintain an effective defense against various threats from the Internet, the DFL-260E UTM Firewall simultaneously uses three databases. In order to provide a robust defense, D-Link offers an optional subscription to NetDefend Firewall UTM Services including different NetDefend service updates for each aspect of the defense, IPS, Anti-Virus and Web Content Filtering. The NetDefend UTM Subscription ensures that each of the databases firewall services are maintained and updated properly.
The DFL-260E UTM Firewall has IPS technology that uses signature-based virus components designed to recognize and protect networks from known and unknown attacks, potential attack payload, NOP sled, infection and exploits. As for the coverage of the virus signatures, IPS database includes attack information and data from global sensors and public places such as the National Vulnerability Database and Bugtrax. It also offers an Auto-Signature Sensor System, which ensures high rate of detection accuracy and a lower rate of false positives, without overloading the device.
The DFL-260E UTM Firewall scans files of any size using virus scanning technology based on the Stream, which does not require temporary storage. This scanning method improves the performance of inspection while eliminating bottlenecks in the network. The device provides users with an Anti-Virus signature that is accurate and reliable, and also communicates signature updates. Consequently, viruses and malware are blocked effectively before they reach the desktop or mobile devices.
Web Content Filtering helps administrators to monitor, manage and control use of the Internet by employees. The DFL-260E UTM Firewall implements multiple global index servers with millions of URLs and website information in real time to improve performance capacity and maximize service availability. The firewall uses granular policies and explicit black lists / white lists to allow or deny access to certain types of websites for each combination of user interfaces and IP networks. The DFL-260E can also remove malicious threats in Java applets, Java Scripts / VBScripts, ActiveX objects and cookies.
