The Tripp Lite POS500 standby UPS system gives you surge suppression and long-lasting battery support, ideal for Kiosks, Point-of-Sale, Network Workstations and standalone PC applications. The special housing with rear-facing outlets fits into limited volume UPS compartments in kiosks and other equipment housings. The unit's internal UPS circuits maintain AC output during power failures and severe brownout conditions so that connected equipment can be properly shut down without data loss.
Three (3) outlets provide battery-support for computer, monitor and one vital system peripheral, and three (3) additional surge suppression-only outlets are available for printers and other system accessories not requiring battery support. The USB communications port with included USB cable enables optional unattended system shutdown without data loss in case of extended power failure. The USB interface is HID-compliant which enables integration with built-in power management and auto shutdown features of Windows and Mac OS X. PowerAlert UPS Management Software is available via download from www.tripplite.com at no extra charge.
Built-in single line phone suppression protects your modem, fax machine or other peripheral with a standard dialup/DSL phone connection. The built-in audible alarm and (5) LEDs indicate line power status, battery power status, battery low/replace, overload and site wiring fault status.
This UPS is compatible with Tripp Lite's Watchdog system service to restore operation to locked equipment through a soft reboot of your application/OS or a hard power cycle reboot of connected equipment, which is ideal for unattended kiosk applications. The POS500 can provide (5) minutes of battery runtime with a full load of 500VA and (16) minutes with a half load of 250VA. User battery replacement is featured via the unit's built-in access panel.
