What Does “Advanced Networking” Mean
in Today’s Business Environment?
Get the Latest on Modern Networking Technology from the Experts
For example, advanced networks can prioritize critical applications, automatically detect and remediate issues, and scale capacity on demand. They also integrate seamlessly with cloud environments, remote workforces, and distributed data centers.
The benefit is a network that acts as a strategic enabler, supporting digital transformation, boosting employee productivity, and protecting sensitive data, rather than a bottleneck that slows innovation.

The term advanced networking gets thrown around a lot these days. What does it really mean?
Not long ago, networking was basically just about how to keep people connected, making sure that employees could get online, access their e-mail, get to the normal on-prem applications. But today, advanced networking goes so much further than just connecting somebody from point A to point B. It's about building this foundation that supports the way that businesses actually operate these days. Whether that's supporting hybrid workforces or IoT devices or all of these Cloud applications that we all use, and then also addressing all of the security needs that these things bring up. It could just be extending the secure connectivity across all of them. It could be leveraging AI analytics to help troubleshoot problems before they impact those users. It could also be about automation. We hear a lot these days about intent-based networking and self-healing networks. These are all things that advanced networking can provide us, as long as the foundation is built correctly. Really, at the end of the day, that's all advanced networking is. It's about making this foundation to make technology invisible, so that our employees can work everywhere, anywhere. Our customers can connect. Businesses can continue to innovate without worrying about what's happening behind the scenes in the network. When we say advanced networking, what we're really talking about is turning the network from just this normal plumbing into a strategic advantage.
